Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 4, 2026

Primecast is a podcast player for iPhone. It is built to keep your data on your device. This policy explains what information Primecast handles, where it lives, and the choices you have.

The short version.

1. Information stored on your device

The following is created and kept locally on your iPhone, and is removed when you delete the app:

DataPurposeWhere it's stored
Name and email (if you create an account)To personalize your profileApp storage
PasswordTo secure your accountStored only as a salted hash in the iOS Keychain — the plaintext is never saved
Subscriptions, Inbox / Up Next / Archive, playback position, listening history, statsTo run the triage workflow and show your statsApp storage
Inbox rules and per-show settingsTo auto-triage and customize playbackApp storage
Podcaster Studio passcode and any host API key you enterTo protect and connect your analyticsSalted hash / value in the iOS Keychain
Analytics files you import (CSV)To show your real download figuresProcessed on device

Playback, triage and listening history are not sent to Primecast — they stay on your device.

2. Information stored on Primecast's servers

Some features need an account or a server, so a limited set of data is stored by Primecast (on Cloudflare infrastructure):

DataWhy
Account name & emailTo create your account and let one login work across the app and website.
Password (as a salted PBKDF2 hash)To authenticate you. We never store your plaintext password.
Advertiser campaigns you create (show, feed, budget, status)To run and bill your ad, and to show you its performance.
Ad performance events (impressions, subscribes, with country)To report your campaign's results back to you.
Download counts via the Primecast measurement prefixOnly if you add the prefix to your feed — to report your downloads and listener countries.

We don't sell this data or use it for cross-app advertising. Payment for ads is handled by our payment processor (Stripe); Primecast does not store your card number.

3. Network requests and third parties

Like any podcast app, Primecast must reach the internet to work. It sends requests to:

These services necessarily receive standard request information, including your IP address and the item being requested, to deliver the content. Primecast does not send them your name, email, or account details. Their handling of data is governed by their own privacy policies.

4. Notifications

New-episode notifications are local and are only scheduled on your device. They are off until you enable them and grant iOS permission, and you can turn them off at any time in Settings.

5. Advertising

Free listeners may see a "Promoted" or "Ad" card for a podcast in the Inbox. These are shown from an on-device list and are not personalized using tracking, and no advertising identifier or third-party ad network is used. Primecast Plus removes these entirely.

6. Purchases

If in-app purchases (such as Primecast Plus) are offered, they are processed by Apple through the App Store. Primecast does not receive or store your payment card details; Apple's privacy policy governs that transaction.

7. Data we do not collect

Consistent with our App Store privacy disclosures, Primecast does not collect the following for its own use:

No usage analytics SDK No advertising trackers No cross-app tracking No location No contacts No sale of data

8. Children

Primecast is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Podcast content itself is provided by third-party publishers and may vary in suitability.

9. Your choices and rights

10. Data retention

Because your data is stored locally, it is retained on your device until you remove it (for example by clearing your library or deleting the app).

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "Last updated" date.
